A Rs. 5,000 nutrition allowance for expectant mothers will be distributed from tomorrow(16) in response to the ongoing disaster situation and upcoming festive season.

The symbolic distribution ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Medical Officer of Health office in Wellawatta, led by Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj.

The one-time allowance will be given to expectant mothers registered at maternal clinics on or before 30 November 2025, through Divisional Secretariat offices under the National Secretariat for Early Childhood Development.
