The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ advisory warning of severe lightning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.

The advisory, issued today at noon (13), will remain in effect until 11:00 p.m.

The department has indicated that thundershowers with severe lightning are likely to occur in some areas within these provinces. 

There is also a possibility of temporary, localized strong winds accompanying the thunderstorms.
