The Petroleum Private Tanker Owners’ Association yesterday (26) demanded a 25 per cent increase in fuel transportation charges. President of the Association, A.M.H. Adhikari stated that steps have already been taken to inform the Government about the proposal. He added that a special discussion on the matter was scheduled for yesterday (26).
He noted that despite challenges in distribution, operations have continued without interruption. “Fuel prices have risen by Rs. 101 this month (March) alone, creating major difficulties for tanker operators, especially for outstation deliveries. The Executive Committee has unanimously decided to request a 25% increase for outstation distribution, effective from 21 March,” Adhikari said. He added that the Association hopes that the Government will respond positively to avoid further operational difficulties.
