All Sri Lankan cricketers participating in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament returned to the country yesterday (2), to process their visas for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will kick off late next month, ‘The Daily Morning Sports’, learns.

Accordingly, Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, and Nuwan Thushara had arrived in Colombo to process their visas for the USA.

Accordingly the cricketers had faced their visa interviews in Colombo, but it is unclear when they will head back to their respective IPL franchises to continue their participation in the said tournament.

It is believed that the cricketers are likely to return to their IPL franchises after having received their US visas for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Sri Lanka Cricket commenced preparations for the World Cup by starting a three-team T20 practice tournament yesterday.
