Eight candidates of the 2025 Local Government (LG) election were arrested within the past 24 hours for violating election laws, according to Police.

Police also arrested 5 political party supporters between 6:00 a.m. yesterday (4) and 6:00 a.m. today (5).

Accordingly, the total number of candidates arrested from 3 March rose to 54, while the total of political supporters who were arrested amounted to 204. 46 vehicles were also seized in connection to election law violations.
