Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo today (05) to discuss matters of mutual interest and review key India-assisted development projects in Sri Lanka.

Following the meeting, Sri Lanka and India exchanged agreements on Indian rupee-denominated Lines of Credit worth USD 350 million, forming part of India’s USD 450 million reconstruction package following Cyclone Ditwah.

The credit facilities will support reconstruction, infrastructure development and procurement requirements arising from the cyclone.

Misri also held discussions with Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath and Foreign Ministry Secretary Aruni Ranaraja during his one-day official visit, focusing on bilateral cooperation and regional and global developments.
