Afternoon thundershowers are expected in the Northern, North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces over the next few days, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (3).

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva, Central and Eastern provinces and Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts after 2 p.m.

The public has been urged to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
