Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe visited New Delhi from 24 to 26 September to participate in the World Food India 2025 summit.
During the visit, Minister Samarasinghe held discussions with Indian Ministers Shri Chirag Paswan and Shri Murlidhar Mohol on strengthening bilateral cooperation in food security and cooperative development.
He also addressed a thematic session, sharing Sri Lanka’s perspective on food loss and waste.
Additionally, the Minister met with the Managing Directors of the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) to explore opportunities for agricultural exports and the sharing of best practices.
