Bhutan has expressed interest in drawing on Sri Lanka’s experience and expertise to support its future development priorities, during a meeting between Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in Thimphu yesterday (2).
The meeting focused on Bhutan’s development priorities and opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The two sides also discussed promoting bilateral investment, including the possibility of establishing an investment zone in Bhutan.
They further discussed Bhutan’s demographic challenges, including the increasing migration of young people and its potential impact on the country’s population and future workforce.
