Sri Lanka is set to assume the chairmanship of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) for the period from 2023 to 2025.
The official handover of the chairmanship will take place at the 23rd Council of Ministers' Meeting in Colombo on the 11th of next month.
This will be the second time Sri Lanka has held the position, having previously served as the IORA Chair from 2003 to 2004.
IORA is an intergovernmental regional forum that includes 23 littoral states of the Indian Ocean, along with 11 Dialogue Partners.
