The Department of Meteorology has forecast fairly heavy showers of around 75 mm at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (07).

Showers or thundershowers are also expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, while strong winds of 40–50 km/h may affect several parts of the island.

The public has been urged to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
