Sri Lanka welcomed 143,623 international tourists during the first 27 days of September, according to the latest figures from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

India remained the largest source market with 45,679 arrivals, followed by China with 10,081 and Australia with 10,067.

The September arrivals have pushed Sri Lanka’s total tourist arrivals for 2026 to 1,678,745.

India led the January-September period with 431,162 arrivals, followed by the UK with 159,956 and China with 110,909.
