The Locomotives Operating Engineers Union's strike continues for the fourth day, protesting delays in promotions, recruitment, and other issues.
Locomotive drivers from two of five running sheds have joined the strike, halting power set train operations.
The Railway department planned 47 office trains this morning, but 20 were cancelled.
Despite this, 11 trains to Fort, Colombo on the main route, 4 from the Chilaw and Northern route, 18 from coastal belt routes, and 3 from the Kelani Valley route will operate.
Accordingly, 7 coastal belt trains from Colombo and all long-distance trains will run as usual.
