Sri Lanka officially committed to the Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform, reaffirming its dedication to improving the lives of children worldwide.

The ceremony was held at the United Nations office in Colombo yesterday (18) and was organized by UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund).

The event was notably attended by UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, who witnessed Sri Lanka become the 35th country to support this important international initiative.

During his remarks, Lammy expressed the UK’s strong backing for Sri Lanka’s efforts, emphasising that the UK stands firmly with the country in ensuring children receive the care, support, and protection they deserve.

This commitment marks a significant step forward in global efforts to reform and enhance child care systems, fostering a brighter future for children across Sri Lanka.
