The grace period for businesses with loans over Rs. 50 million under Sri Lanka’s Parate Execution Law expires at midnight today (30).
Relief remains only for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that started talks with banks before 31 March.
SMEs with loans between Rs. 25 million and Rs. 50 million retain the grace period until 30 September, 2025.
The law permits banks to seize assets of defaulting borrowers without court approval.
