The Court of Appeal has fixed 31 August to hear a petition seeking the revocation of the parliamentary seat of Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archchuna.

The petition claims that Archchuna was serving as a government medical officer at the time of his election and was therefore disqualified from being elected to Parliament.
