Professional Squash Association (PSA) player Tuwin Herath from Sri Lanka finished in third position at the QSF 3 PSA Satellite Squash Championship held in Doha from 17-20 March.

The championship was organised by the Qatar Squash Federation and the event which featured players from eight nations was held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

This particular achievement ranks as the most significant thus far in Herath’s burgeoning squash career, as he plies his trade sans the input of a professional trainer.

Herath won the pre-quarter-final by overcoming his opponent from Oman by three rounds to nil (3-0) and subsequently got the better of Pakistani Mohamed Khan by three rounds to one (3-1) in the quarter-final.

However, the Lankan was beaten by three rounds to nil (3-0) in the semi-final by Saudi Arabian Mohammad Nazfan.

With this showing, Herath has managed to obtain 12.5 points in the Squash World Rankings compiled by World Squash.
