MP Namal Rajapaksa has urged the Government to provide maximum relief to flood-affected communities and prioritize the restoration of damaged religious sites across the country.

Rajapaksa said that numerous temples, churches, mosques, and Hindu kovils in the Central, Uva, North Western, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Southern, Northern, and Eastern provinces have suffered significant damage.

He called for an urgent government survey and immediate commencement of restoration work, noting that many people sought refuge in these religious institutions during the disaster.

The MP added that SLPP regional organizers have been instructed to support local authorities in repairing all affected religious sites.
