The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level advisory for strong winds and rough seas in several sea areas until 10.30 a.m. tomorrow(18).

The affected areas extend from Kankesanthurai to Kalpitiya via Mannar, and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

Strong gusty winds of up to 50–60 kmph are expected, with naval personnel and fishing communities advised to remain vigilant.
