The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested two accomplices of “Army Chooty,” who is responsible for managing the drug operations of Nandun Chintaka Wickremaratne, also known as ‘Harak Kata’.
According to the STF, the suspects were in possession of 7.4 kg of heroin and 1.17 kg of crystal methamphetamine (ICE), which are estimated to be worth over Rs. 285 million.
The arrests were made during a joint operation in Piliyandala conducted by STF personnel based on army intelligence, which targeted key figures connected to the notorious drug and organised crime networks of “Hark Kata” and “Army Chooti”.
The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) is conducting further investigations into the case.
