The Election Commission (EC) has outlined the finger-marking procedure for the upcoming 2024 General Election. 

Voters will have their left index finger marked for the Parliamentary Election on 14 November, 2024. 

Voters who do not have an index finger on the left hand will be marked on the thumb or any other finger on the right hand. 

This decision follows the marking of the left little finger for the Presidential Election and the left thumb for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Election, set for 26 October, 2024.
