The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced an eight-hour water supply interruption in several areas of Anuradhapura tomorrow (22), from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., for essential maintenance work at the Thuruwila Water Treatment Plant.

The complete interruption will affect the Wijayapura, Nachchaduwa and Thalawa water supply schemes, including Wijayapura, Paladikulama, Nelumkulama, Kawarakkulama, Nachchaduwa, Hidogama, Thuruwila, Nellikulama, Thalawa, Shravasthipura and 2nd Milepost.

Meanwhile, Anuradhapura Town Phases II and III are expected to experience low water pressure.

Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly until the supply is restored.
