A 38-year-old woman from Batuwatta has been arrested over an alleged online scam operated through a Telegram group, Sri Lanka Police stated.

The suspect allegedly lured victims by claiming they could earn money through an online business. Police stated that Rs. 66,999 had been defrauded from Rs. 542,877 deposited by victims.

She was arrested yesterday (18), while further investigations are underway.
