The annual Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) pilgrimage season begins today(04), running from Unduwap poya in December to the Wesak poya festival in May. 

The season traditionally reaches its peak during Medin poya. 

Ceremonial events commenced with the transfer of the Sadhatuka Karaduwa, Samandeva Prathimawa and other sacred ornaments from the Sri Pada temple in Galpotthawala, Pelmadulla, to the Sri Pada Uda Maluwa.
