Public warned of fake fuel pass website targeting users

16 Mar 2026 | BY Staff Writer

Leading cybersecurity strategist Asela Waidyalankara has issued a warning to the public about a fraudulent website impersonating the official Fuel Pass platform.

Taking to ‘X’, he emphasised that the fake site is intentionally designed to deceive users into revealing personal information, and it is not associated with the legitimate government-run service.

Authorities have responded by urging citizens to remain cautious, avoid sharing sensitive data on unverified sites, and to rely solely on official channels for accessing Fuel Pass services.

This warning comes amidst increasing concerns over online scams targeting vital public services, highlighting the importance of digital vigilance in safeguarding personal information and government resources.
