Traffic on the Galaha–Deltota Road has been completely disrupted after a section of a bridge in the Deltota area collapsed amid heavy rainfall.

The incident occurred while development work was being carried out at the Galo Oya Bridge on the Peradeniya–Deltota (B364) Road.

Police have advised motorists and the public using the route to take alternative roads.

Peradeniya Police have informed the Road Development Authority (RDA) and other relevant authorities about the incident.
