Two individuals who pleaded guilty to charges relating to the stockpiling of explosives and other prohibited materials at a property in Lacto Watta, Wanathawilluwa, in 2019 have been sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) each.
The sentences were imposed by a three-member bench of the Colombo High Court after the two defendants pleaded guilty to the charges against them.
The bench comprised Colombo High Court Judges Lal Bandara, Nayomi Wickramasekara and Rashmi Singappuli.
The Attorney General had filed the case against the two defendants on several charges, including the possession and stockpiling of explosives and other prohibited materials.
Following their guilty pleas, the Court imposed a 10-year term of rigorous imprisonment on each of the two accused.
