The Cabinet has approved the islandwide implementation of a national communication programme under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative to promote healthy social and behavioural changes among preschool children.

The programme will train teachers from 9,000 preschools across all districts and provide them with communication toolkits to encourage healthy habits, including proper nutrition, physical activity, adequate sleep and environmental responsibility.

The decision follows the successful pilot implementation carried out in 2025.
