An appeal filed by the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, seeking an order preventing the maintaining of the conspiracy charge against him in a case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, has been withdrawn before the Supreme Court yesterday (7). The Court granted permission for the appeal to be withdrawn, while allowing Rajapaksa to raise the same matter in the event that he needs to file an appeal in the future.
