Umayanga Mihiran was crowned as the best boxer of 2023 while the Army Boxing Club was crowned the best boxing club of 2023 during the recently-concluded 96th BASL National Boxing Championship in Colombo.
Representing the Police Boxing Club, Mihiran was in flying form this year, winning a Gold medal in Thailand at an international boxing competition and also winning the National Boxing Championship last year.
The Army Boxing Club was the most decorated club for 2023 with 23 Gold medals across three tournaments in the calendar year.
