The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has seized canned fish worth around Rs. 1.5 million from a manufacturing facility in Alabadagama, Pannala, operating without a valid Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) licence.

The raid was conducted yesterday (07) following a tip-off. CAA officers found that the products were being distributed through major supermarket chains.

Legal action will be taken over manufacturing without displaying the date of manufacture, as well as storing, selling and distributing the products.

The suspects and seized stock are to be produced before the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate’s Court
