The Department of Meteorology has issued a Red advisory for strong winds and rough seas in coastal waters from Kankesanthurai to Kalpitiya via Mannar.

The advisory remains in effect until 10.30 a.m. tomorrow(11), with wind speeds of 60–70 kmph expected in the affected sea areas.

Naval and fishing communities have been advised not to venture into the sea areas covered by the warning until further notice.
