Contributions to the government’s Rebuilding Sri Lanka Fund have exceeded Rs. 3.4 billion, Finance Secretary Harshana Suriyapperuma announced.

He stated that the fund, set up to support people affected by Cyclone Ditwah, has received Rs. 3,421 million from local business leaders, Sri Lankans overseas and foreign institutions.

The total includes foreign currency contributions worth $4.1 million, with overall receipts equivalent to more than $11 million.

Suriyapperuma said financial assistance has been received from 40 countries, with the United States making the largest contribution.
