  • Supports 3 historic big match encounters in 2026

As big match fever took over the month of March, Jetour, the fast-growing global SUV brand represented locally by Euro Motors Ltd. strengthened ties with communities as the sponsor of three prestigious school cricket encounters.

The sponsorship covered the 96th Battle of the Maroons between Ananda College and Nalanda College, the 147th Battle of the Blues between Royal College and S. Thomas’ College, and the 92nd Battle of the Saints between St. Joseph’s College and St. Peter’s College. The sponsorship covered both traditional three-day fixtures and one-day fixtures.

These and other historic encounters have remained at the heart of Sri Lanka’s school cricket culture for generations. They have drawn thousands of students, old boys, families, and cricket enthusiasts to the stands from all over the world. The matches represent a celebration of tradition, school pride, lifelong friendships, and spirited rivalries.

Jetour’s involvement reflects the brand’s commitment to supporting the country’s sporting heritage, while engaging with the communities who uphold these traditions.

School cricket has played a long, pivotal role in nurturing young talent and instilling values such as teamwork, resilience, discipline, and leadership. These qualities are essential to shaping the country’s future sportsmen and leaders.

Euro Motors Executive Director Zameer Imtiaz commented on how sponsoring these traditional fixtures was a natural fit for the brand, noting: “School cricket in Sri Lanka carries a legacy that goes far beyond the boundary lines. These encounters unite communities and create memories that last a lifetime. Jetour is proud to support these historic traditions and celebrate the spirit of youth, teamwork, and perseverance that they represent.”

Through these sponsorships, Jetour aims to contribute to the vibrant local sporting ecosystem while encouraging the next generation of sportsmen. The brand views school cricket as more than a sport; it is a journey that unites students, alumni, and fans in a celebration of tradition and sportsmanship.

At the match venues, Jetour also maintained a strong on-ground presence by showcasing its latest SUVs, the Jetour T1 and Jetour T2, giving spectators an opportunity to experience the brand up close.

In addition to venue branding, the sponsorship extended across digital and social media platforms, allowing fans to engage with the tournaments and the brand throughout the season.

As a rapidly expanding global SUV brand, Jetour is recognised for combining innovation, comfort, and reliability across its vehicle range. Represented locally by Euro Motors, which brings more than two decades of experience in Sri Lanka’s automotive industry, the brand is steadily building its presence in the country.

Through initiatives such as these sponsorships, Jetour aims to go beyond introducing new vehicles to the Sri Lankan market, instead positioning itself as a brand that actively supports the country’s culture, traditions, and communities.

By standing alongside some of Sri Lanka’s most cherished school cricket encounters, Jetour hopes to play a small role in sustaining the passion, camaraderie, and competitive spirit that have defined these historic matches for generations.
