The National Institute for Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation (NINDT) organised a Kidney Health Awareness Walk on 9 March in Maligawatta, Colombo, as a demonstration of support for kidney health.

The NINDT organised a series of events marking World Kidney Day which is commemorated on 13 March. 

More than 200 participants took part in the walk that centered around the NINDT’s hospital, ending with a congregation at the Pradeepa hall in Maligawatta. NINDT staff members staged a drama at the event, reflecting the importance of kidney donation.

Speaking during the Kidney Health Awareness Walk, NINDT’s Dr. Rajeev Menon Gangadaran said that the main aim of the series of events is to increase public awareness of preventative measures, with the NINDT staff leading the campaign.
