The Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) has announced plans to launch strike action tomorrow(30).

FUTA Secretary Senior Lecturer Charudath Ilangasinghe made the announcement today(29), during a press conference. 

The strike is in response to the government’s continued failure to resolve longstanding issues within the university system.

The industrial action is expected to affect academic activities across state universities. 

FUTA stated that the strike will proceed until the government addresses the grievances of the university teachers.
