The Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed an agreement to implement a US$1.33 million project aimed at managing disaster-related waste and restoring community infrastructure in Central Province areas affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
The agreement was signed at the Embassy of Japan in Colombo by Akio Isomata and Azusa Kubota in the presence of S. Alokabandara.
According to the Japanese Embassy, the project will support recovery efforts through a participatory approach while strengthening community resilience and disaster preparedness.
