The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has announced that it is taking professional action due to unmet commitments by the Ministry of Health.
Despite earlier agreements, promises made by the Minister of Health, including recognizing medical professionals as a specialized cadre and introducing a new pay structure, have not been fulfilled.
After a two-day token strike, the GMOA will implement five trade union measures, ensuring that emergency patient care remains unaffected.
These actions include restricting prescriptions for unavailable medicines and lab tests, halting new hospital units without approval, and withdrawing from duties if support staff are not provided.
The association emphasizes that these steps are necessary to push for the implementation of promised reforms.
