President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stated that he seeks to earn public trust by presenting himself as he truly is rather than creating a false image.

In a Facebook post, he noted that genuine sincerity was essential to building lasting public trust.

Dissanayake also stated that more people would come to trust the Government during its tenure than those who voted for it when it first came to power.
