The Department of Meteorology stated that showers will occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Central provinces, with fairly heavy rainfall above 50 mm likely in parts of Mullaittivu, Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.

Several spells of showers are expected in the Uva and North-western provinces, while thundershowers may develop in other parts of the island after 2.00 p.m.

Misty conditions are likely in parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara during the early morning.
