A section of the road from the Model Farm Road Junction towards the D.S. Senanayake Junction in Borella has been reported to be sinking. 

Therefore, motorists are urged to use alternate routes, the Police said. Accordingly, the alternative routes are as follows: Vehicles entering Colombo via the Model Farm Road Junction can proceed from the Model Farm Road Junction towards the Cemetery Roundabout in Borella and then enter the Baseline Road; vehicles entering Colombo from Rajagiriya can use the Cotta Road via the Ayurveda Roundabout; and the vehicles traveling from Colombo towards Sri Jayewardenepura Road via the Model Farm Road Junction can turn left at the D.S. Senanayake Junction, pass through the Borella Junction, and enter the Sri Jayewardenepura Road via the Cotta Road.
