Kosh Hewage, an enterprising force in the world of fashion, boasts over a decade’s worth of experience as a celebrated fashion icon. For Kosh, fashion is more than just the superficial trappings of clothing; it’s a tool to channel confidence and make a lasting impact.

His passion for fashion started at a young age of 13, when he began working alongside his mother, a renowned bridal stylist and designer. Following that, Kosh explored other facets of the industry by working as a model scout and agent at a leading model agency in Sri Lanka, where he was discovered by Adam Flamer-Caldera. Currently, Kosh is a celebrated fashion designer and stylist, and also serves as the Head of Operations at The Agency Sri Lanka.

He was also the National Director of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2021 and owns three highly successful fashion brands. Kosh’s outstanding contributions to the fashion world have earned him the coveted title of Best Designer of the Year in 2015 and accolades at Serenade 2015, making him a highly respected figure in the industry.

The Daily Morning Brunch reached out to Kosh to ask him for his top three fashion tips and to share a few bonus fashion trends as well.

Top three fashion tips

• Stay true to your own identity while keeping up with the latest trends. Don’t compromise your personal style for the sake of fashion.
• Dress appropriately for the occasion, weather, or season. Make sure your outfit is comfortable and practical while still looking stylish.
• Focus on self-grooming and self-care to make a great first impression. Pay attention to details such as hair, makeup, and accessories.

Kosh also shared his take on current fashion trends and gave us a glimpse into how we can stay trendy.

Casual fashion trend: For men: Wide legged jeans, platform shoes (sneakers), shoulder dropped t-shirts or oversized shirts with minimal accessories. For women: Wide legged denim or pants with fitted tank tops or crop tops with sneakers or heels.

Red carpet look: Cropped blazer with small back opening and oversized pants with platform shoes or boots

Pulling the look together: Accessorise with bright colours, funky prints, cool sunglasses, tote bags, and eco-friendly products. Try out new hairstyles such as natural curly hair, as well as coloured mascara for your eyes.
