Police stated that a special traffic plan will be in effect in Colombo from today in view of rehearsals and celebrations for the 78th National Independence Day.

Traffic restrictions will be imposed on roads around Independence Square from 7.45 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on January 30, 31 and February 2 during rehearsals.

Restrictions will also apply from 5.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on February 1, and from 5.00 a.m. on February 4 until the end of the main ceremony.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the restricted periods.
