Cabinet has approved a Rs. 5,000 monthly allowance for eligible students with special educational needs from low-income families.

The programme was proposed under the 2026 Budget, with applications conducted to identify eligible students across the country.

A total of 5,530 students have been identified as eligible for the allowance.

Cabinet approved the allocation of funds required to provide the monthly payments.
