Adverse weather conditions continuing across Sri Lanka have severely impacted 3,475 people from 1,113 families in seven districts, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).
Authorities stated that 1,310 individuals from 489 families have been relocated to eight temporary safety shelters as emergency response efforts continue.
The DMC also confirmed one death from Koralepatthu South in the Batticaloa District due to the prevailing weather conditions.
As of 10.00 a.m. today (14), a total of 88 houses and one business establishment had suffered partial damage.
