Public Health Inspectors have uncovered a racket in Harispattuwa, Kandy, where flood-damaged rice was being processed and sold as consumable rice. 

Officials said legal action has been taken against several suspects after 1,000kg of rice unfit for consumption was seized.

PHIs urged the public to be cautious when purchasing rice and requested residents to report any related illegal activity to their local public health inspector.
