Sri Lanka and Vietnam are planning to introduce a joint tourism package following the launch of direct flights between Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism announced.

The proposed package will promote religious tourism, while also enhancing cultural, wellness and adventure tourism between the two countries.

Vietnam's VietJetAir has begun operating three weekly direct flights between Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
