BYD hosts Sri Lankan media delegation

30 Nov 2025

BYD hosted a Sri Lankan media delegation in China from 10–14 November, offering an inside look at the company’s Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and premium Denza product lineup. The visit formed part of the BYD China Media Tour 2025, which included programme stops in Shenzhen and Zhengzhou.

During the tour, the delegation met BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division General Manager Liu Xueliang and received briefings on the company’s global strategy and expansion across 117 countries. The group also visited the Denza 4S Showroom in Shenzhen for an exclusive preview of the D9, B5, and B8 models.

A major highlight was the visit to Zhengzhou Di-Space, BYD’s immersive science and technology centre, where journalists explored the company’s innovation exhibits, blade battery demonstrations, and EV platform architecture. The team also toured the Zhengzhou factory, observing the stamping, welding, painting, and assembly lines at one of BYD’s largest production hubs.

The media programme included a hands-on session at the BYD Zhengzhou All-Terrain Circuit, one of China’s first dedicated New Energy Vehicle (NEV) testing centres. Journalists experienced fast-charging demonstrations, an indoor sand dune climb, and all-terrain handling tests featuring the Denza B8 and Yangwang U8, including water-floating and off-road capability showcases.

Founded in 1994, BYD has grown into a global leader in NEVs, with 2024 revenue exceeding RMB 777.1 billion and global sales reaching 4.27 million units, making it the world’s top NEV manufacturer. The company operates across electronics, automobiles, new energy, and rail transit, supported by more than 900,000 employees.

The Sri Lankan delegation’s visit coincides with BYD’s expanding presence in South Asia and the introduction of the Denza brand to the Sri Lankan market.
