The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for the North-Central and Eastern provinces, and several districts including Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Kurunegala, Monaragala and Hambantota.

The heat index is expected to reach the ‘Caution’ level in some areas during the daytime.

Residents have been advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities.
