It is reported that nearly a quarter million Government supporters are expected to attend the National People’s Power (NPP) May Day rally at Galle Face Green in Colombo.

It is learnt that 5,532 buses are expected to provide transport facilities to the event.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Indika Hapugoda, speaking to media, confirmed that the Fort, Regal, and Lotus Tower zones have been allocated as designated parking areas for incoming buses and vehicles.

To manage the large crowds and ensure security, a total of 2,085 police personnel, including members of the Special Task Force (STF) and intelligence units, have been deployed for traffic control and crowd management.
